PDP8

I've used computers for a long time. What was the first computer I ever used? A DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) PDP8. I used it for generating random numbers for my PhD experiments. But of course it was possible to use it for writing games, so I also used it to write several of these, in FORTRAN, of course. I still have the tape!

I also used a BBC microcomputer - a fabulous machine. Utterly reliable, great graphics and fantastic music capabilities. It also had a very advanced database which I used for storing numerical data with calculated fields. You could also design great reports for printing too.

The Commodore PET (Personal Electronic Transactor) was another great computer. From what I remember, it had some great games.

IBM AT

And then there was the IBM AT. A classic. And I can remember the excitement of getting Windows 3.1!

But then of course there was this - the Macintosh 128. And now all I ever use are Macs.

But why this stuff about computers on a site about dark knowledge|? Well, I figure I can use software reviews to illustrate some interesting points abut dark knowledge. What I'll be attempting to do is reveal something about the software or its uses that you never knew you didn't know. Here goes!
